Ethiopian cuisine characteristically consists of vegetable and often very spicy meat dishes. This is usually in the form of wat, a thick stew, served on top of injera, a large sourdough flatbread, which is about 50 centimeters in diameter and made out of fermented teff flour. Ethiopians eat most of the time with their right hands, using pieces of injera to pick up bites of entrées and side dishes.

quote If you love big plates of food, eating food with your hands and finding a place with a difference to dine and hang out. Ethiopian-village in Moorooka is definitely the place to be. The food is amazing and we didn't know what to order the first time because it was so new to Michelle and I. We ordered the normal portion combination platter. They do not serve pork here and have yummy vegetarian dishes too. On our 2nd visit we ordered a 6 person platter with a side of Zilzil Tibs (beef tenderloin). The food weight was definitely over 3kg.
