Our Customer Reviews

quote Searched for restaurants in nth hobart, most were full of customers. Found this small unassuming diner"Saigon express" three of them in the main drag. Chose the unlicenced middle one . On first appearance it looked quite drab, noticed a seafood sizzling hot plate advertised without noodle or rice for $27. WELL , did I get MORE than I had expected... Prawns ,squid seared with fresh red capsicum ,ginger, spring onion shallots, brocolli, cauliflower, carrot along with the most delicious stock/ sauce. All cooked too an absolute perfect level still alldente and juicy. I asked about byo and was told yes and not even charged corkage!. Sometimes, looks can be deceiving, I would recommend this authentic Vietnamese diner for any person looking for a fresh / healthy dinner without the pomp and ceremony that most upmarket restaurants base their menu prices on. I will return too try out many of my other Viet dishes featured on the expansive menu... Staff are all friendly Darlings xx

quote Teriyaki chicken curry is fantastic. Not just the slop out of the bain-marie but a generous portion of just fried delicious chicken with curry and rice for $17. 10/10

quote I tried this restaurant for lunch and was greeted by a lady with a warm, friendly smile. I ordered the big bento and really loved the dumplings. The teriyaki was good but nothing too special, while the mixed tempura was nice and crunchy. I just wish they included a small bowl of miso soup, as it would have made the experience even better. The restaurant itself is quite small, so seating is limited.

quote Food was OK I guess but wonton wasn't that great at all. The Nasi Goreng was absolutely not what you'd expect but I guess it was my fault for ordering Indonesian food from a chinese place.

quote Fraggles Fish and Chips serves up some of the best classic fish and chips around. The batter is perfectly crisp and golden without being greasy, and the fish inside is fresh, flaky, and full of flavour. The chips are thick-cut, well-seasoned, and cooked just right — crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Everything tastes freshly made, and the portions are generous too. A great spot for a satisfying, traditional fish and chips experience done right.

quote The food is excellent, the portions are generous, and the flavor is incredible. Prices are very reasonable. Service was also great — the guy who helped us at the counter was super friendly and attentive. We decided to eat there, but we noticed they also get a lot of takeaway orders, which speaks well of the place. We'd definitely come back!
