quote This was our first time trying this place and wow we were delightfully surprised by the generous portions and fantastic flavour. Everything was fried to crispy perfection and the Hoki was fresh! The chips were well coated in delicious chicken salt- didn’t need to add any of our own from home. We can’t wait to come back for more!

quote It's a good local restaurant to go to for Cantonese roast with tasty and good quality roast duck and roast pork that has skin that's done quite well with a slight crispness and crunch respectively.  It's not the best in Perth but for a suburban restaurant, it's really good, even though the meat is a little on the salty side. They do other barbecue and roast meats, as well as an extensive menu of "local" Cantonese Chinese dishes.  The restaurant isn't fancy, but they seem to get quite busy for a simple local restaurant.

quote What a surprise to find a true taste of Hong Kong out in Beechboro—complete with BBQ roasts. We dropped in for a casual Sunday lunch and were impressed to see that, even during our short visit, the restaurant had drawn in a steady stream of local Asian diners—a quiet but strong reflection of just how genuine the food is here at Ning Kwong, translated as Tranquil River Chinese Restaurant. We ordered a spread of Cantonese classics and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and that unmistakable hit of wok hei (!)—the chef is definitely not messing around. The sizzling tofu and salted egg prawns were absolute standouts, while the char siu and roast pork held their own against the best you’d find anywhere in Perth. Service was attentive and quick—we were well looked after from the moment we were seated to the thoughtful offer of takeaway boxes for our leftovers (next day’s lunch, sorted). It’s heartening to see such a genuine and traditional experience holding up so well in this part of Perth.
