Authentic South Indian Flavors in Perth!
Visited this restaurant based on a friend’s recommendation, and it exceeded our expectations!
The punugulu were hands down the best we’ve had in Perth—crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. We also tried the veg cutlets and veg biryani, both incredibly tasty and made with fresh ingredients.
Our friends ordered the chicken lollipop, chicken dum biryani, and dosa, and they loved every bite. We had a chance to speak with the chef, who shared that they keep a limited menu to ensure everything is freshly prepared daily—a thoughtful touch that really shows in the food.
They also sell dosa batter, which is perfect for home cooking. As a sweet surprise, we received a complimentary Gulab Jamun—soft, warm, and absolutely delicious.
Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic South Indian-style biryanis and starters. Great spice levels, friendly service, and a focus on freshness make this a must-visit!

So I was craving for a fish and chips on a NY day arvo and found this gem of a place. I ordered seafood basket. Served by a friendly uncle whom happily answered my questions. Cozy restaurant that feels like an outback deli. It is neat and clean. Seafood basket was sizeable with plenty of chips and generous two servings of hake fish. At $17, it was great value. Quality is great too. I agree with some of the reviews where chips were crunchily tasty and were not oily. Fish were great with crunchy batter yet juicy in the inside. Food aside, the menu instore, in my opinion, is kind of confusing with plenty of options and prices plastered all over. I will visit again to taste their other food. Recommended to try if you want a no fuss tasty fish and chips.

I liked the ramandan buffet, I especially liked the beef brisket. However, the food weren’t refilled like I was told, my reservation time was kind of late but I had been assured that there’ll be refills throughout the night. My friend and I’s seat was put in the way of a walking path so people kept bumping me as I ate, the food ran out quickly and there weren’t refills, we just had one plate of food. The restaurant was rowdy, I couldn’t hear my friend speak to me most of the time. Aside from that, the food was delicious, I would come back again if we could get better seats and the food was actually refilled.

What an amazing dinner for our group of 5. The staff and food were absolutely amazing. The staff, even though young, were so polite and friendly and they couldn’t do enough to help us.
The food was second to none. We had Spring Rolls for Entree, then Honey King Prawn, Satay Lamb, Chicken Cashew and Garlic/Ginger Beef along with Vegetarian Fried Rice. Was so fresh, super delicious and generous serves. Definitely wont hesitate to head here for a feed again next time we are in the area. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We've been back regularly and I thought I'd updated!!
I was craving the yong taufu laksa which has proved to be my fav at this place now. There is no comparison. Tonight, the quality was still similar except the veggies like capsicum and okra were smaller. Im hoping it's a winter issue as these are not seasonal. My son had the BBQ pork wonton noodle soup. It didn't look as appetising as pics from other places but he said it was tasty. I felt there was not as much protein either with some bbq pork slices and 2 wontons. We slurped it up on this nippy winter's night and were satisfied!
As we were leaving I let the guy know his YTF Laksa is the best in town. I learnt it's freshly made which explains why it's only available on the weekend. Miss it st your own loss 😁
No MSG effect yet.

I came here a few years ago, and reacted badly to the msg. Since then I stopped coming to Hey until tonight as it was en route from seeing my dad.
I just wanted a quick meal and run. I walked into what seemed like an old kopi diam, with squishy spaces. It was abustle with happy patrons enjoying their meals which I didn't pay much attention to as I was not expecting much, except to confirm my assessment from a million moons ago.
I ordered a hor fun with egg sauce and the weekend special, yong taufu laksa. We got the chopsticks and did the usual clean. Before we knew it, the hor fun arrived. Looked good with generous ingredients and a wok hei flavour about it.
My yong taufu laksa arrived shortly after which was nice and I was gobsmacked! It looked amazing!! And it tasted like no YTL I have ever tasted!! The first thing was the taufu wafer (?), then the full-sized fresh okra, not slimy or squishy but fresh! The fish paste in the YT was generous and so fresh!! Huge large pieces that struggled to fit in my mouth.
The soup was creamy with the coconut, and sambal - authentic. It had the crunch of fresh taugeh and choy sum.
My son also preferred the hor fun compared to other places and he's a connoisseur of HF, with a fussy criteria. I will try that next time.
This should be a 5-star review but I'll reserve that for the next visit.
As we walked out into the balmy carpark, I felt like I could have been back in Asia somewhere. We were done in less than 30 minutes!!!
And to my surprise, all that was less than prices at most places. For the quality and quantity, we're definitely returning!!
Yea, proved wrong!!
