印尼菜

Indonesian cuisine often demonstrates complex flavour, acquired from certain ingredients and bumbu spices mixture. Most Indonesians favour hot and spicy food, thus sambal, Indonesian hot and spicy chili sauce with various optional ingredients, notably shrimp paste, shallots, and others, is a staple condiment at all Indonesian tables. Some popular Indonesian dishes such as nasi goreng,gado-gado, satay and soto are ubiquitous in the country and are considered national dishes.

quote Lovely couple that run this authentic Indo eatery. Attentive, without asking offered share plates, more cold water & even beaut complimentary syrupy dessert, which the owner asked whether we want more after we finished. Slightly pricey mains, but somewhat unique & tasty. Ketoprak (rice vermicelli with peanut sauce) was refreshing & cooling to balance the spicy elements of the meals. If we come back to this area we'd order the gado gado, soto ayam & tahu telor next time. If you are more budget conscious, would be good value to order chicken pieces & rices separately.

quote Food was great. Cooking by bu Rohani leaves you always wanting more. She's great with authentic Indonesian spices and tastes, and the portion is generous too! She has great snacks for your enjoyment, either for takeaway or to enjoy them while waiting for your main dish to arrive. I especially love the Ikan Pakang - savoury and spicy, and also crackly. The only downside (depending on what time), would be parking spot. On a unfortunate time, you will find yourself fighting for parking space as the opposite building is some sort of community hall and lots of kids get dancing lessons or some other - and their parents occupy the parking space. Spare yourself the trouble if you see it packed and park about 5 mins away.

quote I really enjoyed the Yellow rice with Beef rendang, Tempe vegie and Anchovy peanut. The place is simple, with friendly staffs. Price is reasonable which is around $18 per meal. I will be back and thank you!

quote Warung Pojok is a tiny Indonesian restaurant on the edge of Campsie’s ANZAC mall. Dominated by a glass counter, the compact dining room is famous for nasi padang, a West Sumatran rice dish. The counter means you can order it “pilih” where you point and choose. Opting for nasi Padang paket B ($17) with beef rendang sees us also receive a piece of fried chicken, a big, pale corn fritter, cassava leaves, red and green sambals, and a drizzle of curry sauce. It’s presented on banana leaves and brown paper, and amounts to more food than you’re likely to finish. For a more compact meal, bakmi Kalimantan ($17) is a chewy, yellow egg noodle dish. It evolved in Singkawang in West Kalimantan, a coastal city where there has been considerable Chinese immigration. So expect a Chinese dish adapted to suit Indonesian taste. The toppings include char siu (red pork), fried wontons, fish cakes, prawn cakes, and fish balls, with a gentle chicken broth you pour over. The on-table chilli sauce takes it from mild to wild very quickly, necessitating a dabble in their drinks list, where nothing is more than four bucks. Keep in mind it’s a cash only business.
